Free to Be SHE™ CIC

Accessible wellbeing support for women in our community

Free to Be SHE™ CIC provides supportive, community-based programmes for women experiencing exhaustion, overwhelm, burnout or significant life transitions. Our aim is to offer practical support before challenges escalate — within a welcoming, non-clinical environment.

What is a CIC?

A company that exists for the community, not for profit

A Community Interest Company (CIC) is a type of UK company created specifically to benefit a community, rather than to generate profit for owners or shareholders. Free to Be SHE (NW) CIC is a separate legal entity from the main Free to Be SHE™ business, set up so that any income it generates is reinvested directly back into supporting local women, rather than taken as profit.

In practical terms, this means we can offer reduced-cost and fully funded places to women who couldn't otherwise access this kind of support, funded through a mix of paid places, grants, and partnerships with local organisations.

How we help our community

Practical support, before things escalate

We work with women across our local community who are experiencing exhaustion, overwhelm, burnout, or navigating significant life transitions — often before they'd think to ask for formal help. Through small, facilitated group sessions, we help women understand the patterns affecting their wellbeing, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with a support network of other women going through similar things.

Our goal is simple: to make sure that needing support isn't dependent on being able to afford it.

Women supporting each other in a group session
Real connection

Women, together, supporting each other

Our sessions are small and facilitated, giving every woman room to be heard. It's ordinary women, in an ordinary room, doing the quietly extraordinary work of understanding themselves — together.

The programme

Our facilitated group programme helps women:

Sessions combine guided learning, reflection, practical tools and supportive connection.
